Staff Training Sessions

Throughout the industry, the senior adjusters and principles of McMartin Wasek & Associates, Inc. have had numerous opportunities to present at national conferences, such as the PLRB and also provide home office presentations on loss adjusting. These topics include general adjuster discussions on dealing with public adjusters, content loss inspection and evaluations, business interruption adjusting and wage loss analysis.

Contents Inspections and Evaluations – Chuck McMartin
An in-depth look into the challenges facing adjusters today in the proper evaluation of contents claims. This course will cover the capturing of a detailed contents scope, valuation techniques, out of sight inventories, pack-out management and managing third party participation.

Public Adjusting 101 – Clare Wasek
The basic’s of dealing with a Public Adjuster. From the perceptions and tactics they use to ply their trade to the licensing laws of the State of Michigan. This course will give you not only useful background information, but helpful insight that should make your interaction with them more productive.

Xactimate Training
This class will make an estimator a faster and more efficient user of Xactimate. There will be a detailed explanation of the main differences, past and current versions of Xactimate. Classes can be tailored to your specific needs.

We will explain:
  • How to set up parameters so that you do not have to do it for each and every file.
  • How to scope a building so that the rooms can more easily be put into "Sketch".
  • How to sketch rooms quickly and efficiently including doors, windows and roof structures.
  • How to write estimates in "Sketch".
  • How to take pictures in a loss for maximum effect to the adjuster.
  • How to make global changes of multiple lines items at once as in adding O&P when allowed.
We will discuss line item entry, search features and answer any of your questions.

Classes will generally run in eight hour segments.
Prices are based on the number of participants and the location.

Business Income Claims – Carl Suhr
This course provides an overview of the methods utilized to calculate business income loss claims. The course offers detailed information on the financial information you should request from your insured and how to establish a business income reserve. Several case studies are presented to differentiate between various types of business income claims.

PIP – Wage Loss Analysis – Carl Suhr
This course provides an overview of calculating the earnings loss for self-employed individuals under the Michigan Automobile No-Fault Statute. The course discusses the issues and considerations to be made with each claim and the types of documentation to request. Several case studies are presented to clarify course topics.
